Annual American Indian Festival celebrates heritage
Chesapeake City Park hosted the 12th Annual American Indian Festival. Many Native American tribe members performed traditional dances and sold handmade crafts and artwork. The Nansemond Indian Tribe co-hosted this year's festival and is one of the remaining tribes of the Powahatan Confederacy, which has received recognition from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
